Please take a look at our Past, our Present and our Future
Our Past
Diane saw her first picture of a Gypsy in the back of a magazine in 2003. She says, "I could not wait to get home, surf the Internet and find someway to finance this most amazing of horses. To say my spouse at the time was not on board with the idea of a "fluffy pony" that was "astronomically priced" was a vast understatement.
After many phone calls, prayers, Internet searches, prayers, extra shifts at work, prayers, and did I mention PRAYERS, I bought my first (and I thought only) Gypsy Horse. Boy was I wrong! Someway, these amazing creatures find their way into your life and you are never the same again."
We have met some very amazing people along the way. Some have turned into my best friends. We are thankful everyday that these horses came into my life (every single one of them!)
Our breeding program is becoming a success and growing by leaps and bounds! We had our first home grown Gypsy filly in 2011. 2012 was an outstanding success with the expansion of our stallion line up, and some truly outstanding foals. Come take a look. We guarantee you will love what you see!
As for the wonderful Drum Horses, please take a look at our Drum Horse pages. These horses are NOT to be taken lightly (no pun intended...OK maybe a little pun intended!). They are not just a Heavy, hairy Gypsy Horse cross. They are a wonderful breed all their own. They are an amazing breed that is just becoming known in the USA. Although some people see them as a crossbreed, or a stairstep to a "real" Gypsy Horse, this is so not true. Please take a minute or more to investigate this amazing breed and where their future is going. Come walk the walk with us on this wonderful journey!
Our Present
We have grown by leaps and bounds! We at WayCross Farm are now the Thompson family! We have added some outstanding bloodlines from across our three foundation breeds: Lion King, Dunbrody, Wandamere, Galway Warrior, Ard Ri, and the immortal SBH Phoenix! We have the entire spectrum of breeds, sizes, body types, colors, patterns and percentages to see our breeding program continue to prosper. We have F1 to F3 Drums, ever looking forward to breeding for F4 when the time comes.
Our Future
We have great plans coming! We have added and are growing out several young horses with our eye on the future. It is our wish that we can continue to help grow the Drum type into a breed worldwide. Come watch us grow!
